... after spending ridiculous amounts of money on little nasty tubes you can decide if you want to see pictures of fails and progress or not.
Since the medium is like an alien with four heads for me I guess I rather create fails.
I tried to find good tutorials on the net but nada. Maybe a good point for posting those... o_o

What kinda colors are Gouache? I always imagine a thick watercolory acrylic blend when I hear that name (which I don't even know how to pronounce now that I think of it)
I've never been into traditional media since I got very shaky hands and clutzy as hell but I always come back for more punishment.

Isn't Gouache the nasty stuff they sell in boxes of 12 as school colours? (Deckfarben)... I made a picture with wet Gouache from tubes some time ago (http://enonea.deviantart.com/art/92ofC-All-That-I-Have-159807013) and I was shocked how much colour wurst you need to fill up spaces. But I love the intensity of the colours even when mixed
ich arbeite seit jahren mit aquarell und gouache (und mixe die auch nach herzenslust) und eigentlich kannst du gouache genauso wie aquarell behandeln. die farben sind leuchtkräftiger als aquarell, deckender (wenn du willst), aber du kannst sie genauso verflüssigen wie aquarell.
ich weiss nicht, ob dir das weiterhilft.. äh... ^^°

Bei Wissenschaftliche Illustration auf der Akademie hat mir mein Dozent den Tipp gegeben eine kleine Palette mit kleinen "Farbhäufchen" zu machen und die trocknen zu lassen. Danach kannst Du mit einem nassen Pinsel genau so viel Farbe abnehmen wie Du brauchst und hast nicht zu dicke Schichten auf dem Papier die irgendwann brechen. Von durchsichtig wie Aquarell bis total deckend kannst Du dann alles machen. Kommt Gouache frisch aus der Tube komme ich auch nicht so gut mit zurecht...
